Accounts Foundation Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship programme will suit you if you are interested in combining work and study while earning a wage. You will learn basic accountancy procedures in a working environment to NVQ Level 2.

What will I learn?
Unit 1 - Recording Income and Receipts

  • Accounting for money received by a business
  • Assessment - skills test


Unit 2 - Making and Recording Payments

  • Accounting for money paid out by the business
  • Assessment - skills test


Unit 3 - Preparing Ledger Balances and Initial Trial Balance

  • Closing the account as preparation for finding a company’s profit or loss
  • Assessment - skills test and exam

    
Unit 4 - Supplying Information for Management Control

  • Simple costing to help management make decisions
  • Assessment - skills test


Unit 21 - Working with Computers

  • Includes computerised accounts
  • Assessment - skills test


Unit 22 - Contribute to the Maintenance of a Healthy, Safe and Productive Working Environment

  • Employees’ responsibility for keeping up health and safety in a workplace
  • Assessment - skills test


Unit 23 - Achieving Personal Effectiveness

  • How to organise your work in the most efficient manner
  • Assessment - skills test

 

What do I need?

  • 4 GCSE passes at grade C, including Maths and English Language
  • A satisfactory interview, reference and basic skills test

  • Studying - progression to an advanced apprenticeship
