Why study this course?
Many adults looking to progress, academically or professionally, are now required to have a Level 2 qualification in English, and Functional Skills are widely recognised by employers and institutions as a suitable alternative to the GCSE. In fact, employers were involved in the design of the reformed Functional Skills in order to address gaps in skills and knowledge needed for the workplace.
We are offering the opportunity for an intense 3-day course to suit the demands of adult learners seeking to gain a Level 2 qualification in English: for their own personal development, for employment reasons or to progress into further/higher education.
Please note, you need to be available and able to come to our Whittingham Road site on the 12th, 13th and 14th April in order to study this course. Attendance to all three days is compulsory.
Course content
In English you will be externally assessed in the form of a written exam that comprises of a reading and writing paper. In addition to this you will also complete two speaking and listening tasks that are internally assessed. The exams will take place during the three days of the course.
