Why study this course?
This course is designed to support you in improving your English skills in reading, writing and speaking whilst studying a vocational qualification in Health and Care. The qualification gives learners knowledge and understanding of the skills required in health and care to support progression to employment in a related field or further study at a higher level.
The qualification is aligned with the National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care and provides an introduction to the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required for employment in this area.
Course Content
This course is designed to support you in improving your English skills in reading, writing and speaking while studying a vocational qualification in Health and Care. Learners will complete the following units to achieve the Level 1 award:
There may be an opportunity to complete additional units in order to achieve the Entry 3 Certificate. Learner’s suitability for this additional work will be assessed throughout the course and reviewed on an ongoing basis through continual skills assessment.
Entry Requirements
Learners must hold a full certificate in ESOL or other English language qualification at Entry 3 as a minimum due to the language requirements of the course. Learners will complete a short initial assessment to determine their eligibility for the award or certificate.

You will need a pen, an A4 sized lined notepad and a folder to keep your work in.
