Why study this course?
Are you looking for a new career or developing the career you are already in? Either way the Health Certificate at Level 2 is a free course that could open the doors for employment in a health and social care setting or in further education by completing the Access L3 Diploma and then on to a health degree. As a college we recognise that adult learners often have a diverse set of transferable skills and experiences and we aim to deliver a programme that is interesting, valuable, rich in opportunity and develops knowledge and understanding of health.
The Level 2 Certificate prepares you to study a further Level 2 extended qualification or, in conjunction with relevant maths and English qualifications, one of the Access to HE health pathways hours over the two year programme.
Course content
The L2 Certificate is a three-unit introduction to the subject of health and social care, offering learners the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and understanding of: Human Growth and Development; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Safeguarding in Health and Social Care. Each unit provides an essential foundation of knowledge for any learner interested in working in the sector or progressing onto further study in this subject.
The course is assessed internally via a range of assessment tasks that include written assignments and presentations. It is important to note that the course is 100% coursework, no externally assessed exams. Each assessment will be marked and graded by your lecturer and then returned to you along with useful feedback and tips for improvement.
