Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Level 2
About this course
This 15 month Apprenticeship is ideal if you want to make a career of caring for other people - a job that will give you much job satisfaction.
It is essential that you should have a caring, compassionate nature, be discreet and conscientious and have a desire to improve the day to day lives of people in need.
You will work towards achieving the Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adult Care) and the Care Certificate, and be guided and assessed in the workplace by a visiting College assessor, who will help you to develop the practical skills needed to be a successful carer.
You will work to improve your skills in English and Maths over the course of your Apprenticeship.
How will I be assessed?
Your practical skills will be developed and assessed in the workplace on a regular basis by a visiting College assessor, who will help you keep a portfolio of work.
Your knowledge will be assessed through online assignments throughout the apprenticeship and your assessor will help you prepare for the End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship, this will comprise an interview, a task and examination of your portfolio.
What do I need?
You will need at least 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above with Grade 3 in English and Maths. In addition you will also need to secure a job with an employer.
Where can it take me?
College Progression - you can progress to a Level 3 Apprenticeship within Care.
You need to be in employment - College staff may be able to help you but you will probably need to apply for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship online vacancy website.
