Childcare (Early Years) Level 2 Apprenticeship
About this course
If you have a love of children and a calm manner, this one year Apprenticeship is ideal. It will help you to make a career caring for children in privately owned nurseries or those attached to primary schools.
You will attend College for 1 day a week to work towards the Level 2 Certificate for the Children’s & Young People’s Workforce, while working in a Childcare setting for the other 4 days a week. You will also be required to complete a workbook on Employer Rights & Responsibilities and demonstrate Personal Learning & Thinking Skills throughout the Apprenticeship.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continuously assessed in the workplace for your developing skills and through assignment work in College.
What do I need?
- 5 GCSE passes at grade A - C, or their equivalent, ideally to include Maths and English Language
All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for their suitability for this apprenticeship.

- Careers - continued employment in the Childcare sector
You need to be in employment - College staff may be able to help you but you will probably need to apply for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship Online Vacancy website.
