Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship Level 3
About this course
This 15 month Apprenticeship is ideal for you if you have excellent IT skills and want to use these skills to kick start a career in the IT industry.
You will be employed in an IT support role, which could include installing networks of computers and/or offering first line support in a range of industrial and office based settings. You will attend College one day per week to learn essential IT knowledge and skills, while working four days per week at your employer’s premises. You will also be visited in the workplace by a College assessor who will guide you and assess your developing skills, help you to compile a portfolio of your work and help you prepare for the End Point Assessment at the end of your Apprenticeship. This will comprise a project and one to one interview, and assessment of your portfolio of work achieved over the course of your Apprenticeship.
You will also work to improve your skills in English and Maths over the course of your Apprenticeship.
How will I be assessed?
Your knowledge and practical skills will be assessed both at College and in the workplace throughout your Apprenticeship, as well as in the End Point Assessment. Your knowledge will also be assessed by online tests.
What do I need?
You will need at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English Language, Maths and ICT. In addition you will need to secure a job with an employer.
Where can it take me?
College Progression - you can progress to the Level 4 Apprenticeship for Software Developers or Network Engineers.
