About this course

If you are interested in film making, photography, advertising, journalism and film analysis, then look no further!

This Media course will help you to expand your knowledge and understanding on a range of areas in the Film and Media industry.

This is a very popular course with students and has an excellent achievement rate.

You will improve your practical skills and learn how to use a range of industry standard software including Final Cut Pro, InDesign and Photoshop as well as Film Making equipment.

If you are creative, motivated, organised and have a passion for Media, then this is the course for you!

During the course you will become multi-skilled in a range of Media techniques which will prepare you for a career in the industry.

What will I learn?

You will produce a range of different written and practical work, including:

  • Film Production Work such as Trailers and Short Films
  • Billboards and Print Adverts
  • College Magazine Front Covers and Double Page Spreads
  • A Photography Portfolio
  • Film Analysis

You will also be able to improve your Maths and English qualifications (if required)

To further enhance your employability skills there will be opportunities for you to complete a one week work placement.

This compulsory aspect of the course gives you the chance to apply the knowledge gained in class to the real world of work.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be by coursework.

What do I need?

You will need to achieve at least 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above with a Grade 3 in English and Maths.
