About this course
Everyone in the country is affected by English Law. This course will help you to understand how the English legal system works, from where laws are made and the roles of people working in administrating the law such as magistrates, juries, lawyers and the police.
What will I learn?
You will learn how legal disputes are resolved, how criminal liability is established and develop an understanding of how laws are made. By using a variety of learning activities, such as role play, class debates and Internet research, as well as visits to Crown Court and from Magistrates, you will have an excellent opportunity to develop an appreciation of the legal process.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be by coursework; you will complete a series of assignments relating to the six units studied.
What do I need?
- 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C including English and Maths at grade 4 (grade C)
In certain circumstances we will accept variations to this entry guide and create a personalised programme.
