About this course
Are you interesting in learning about the inner workings of a computer? If so then this is the course for you.
By studying this course you will gain knowledge, understanding and skills of the principles of IT and Global Information Systems.
You will gain an insight into the IT sector as you investigate the pace of technological change, IT infrastructure, and the flow of information on a global scale, and the importance of legal and security considerations.
As part of the course you will study the design, implementation and management of an organisation’s IT Infrastructure, plus, the activities and roles that are carried out in the workplace such as selecting hardware and software for clients, and learning how to build, upgrade or develop computer systems and networks that are safe and secure.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by written exams and coursework based units which are assessed on an ongoing basis.
What do I need?
You will need to achieve at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English Language and Maths.

- University - related degree, such as Computing, Computer Science and Systems Management
This course should be combined with A Levels.
Good combinations include Graphic Communication and Music Technology.
