Early Years Practitioner Level 2

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

Successful applicants will study a range of units to support them with a full understanding of how to support young children's growth and development, and to keep them safe and healthy. Placement requirements will allow students to apply their knowledge to practice and evidence their competency in the work place.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is carried out through coursework for unit completion and by assessments in the placement setting.

What do I need?

Entry requirements are a minimum of 4 grade 3's at GCSE, to include Maths and English language. This will be followed by initial assessment tasks during the induction period, to ensure the student is enrolled on the correct programme.

Where can it take me?

Progression to employment in the Early Years sector or to a level 3 qualification on successful completion of all elements of the course.
