Theatrical, Hair & Media Make-Up Level 3
About this course
This course will give you the opportunity to learn and develop make-up, wig and hair skills, and gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in film, theatre and TV.

To further enhance your employability skills there will be opportunities for you to complete a one week work placement.
This compulsory aspect of the course gives you the chance to apply the knowledge gained in class to the real world of work.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by various methods including practical observation of make up looks, group assessment on various themes, external written exams and graded synoptic assessment.
You will need to compile a portfolio of evidence.
What do I need?
You will need to achieve at least 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English.
Alternative Requirement: a Level 2 qualification in Hair & Make-Up Artistry or related qualification may also be considered.

There is an annual residential visit to the International Make-Up Artist trade show in London and there are opportunities to other trips and enrichment activities.
Work experience may include evenings and weekends at local theatres communities and services.
A kit and uniform will be required.
