Have you ever thought about becoming a famous musician? Have you ever considered your future as a world-renowned music producer? The Music industry is ready for you!
This course is designed to give you a solid foundation and insight into the world of popular music and modern production techniques.
During the course you will explore business, technology and performance.
As a Music student you can make full use of the facilities within the department which include three Music Studios, six Rehearsal PODS and two fully equipped Mac Suites.
Enjoy the opportunity to work in a professional setting and participate in external shows, which are held every half term. Invite parents, guardians, friends and members of the public to see you reach your potential.
Having an existing understanding of Music is helpful but not a must.
What will I learn?
The course explores a wide variety of topics including, The Music Industry, Musical Composition, An Introduction to Music Theory, Music Recording, Sequencing and A Musical Showcase.
To further enhance your employability skills there will be opportunities for you to complete a one week work placement.
This compulsory aspect of the course gives you the chance to apply the knowledge gained in class to the real world of work.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be by two externally assessed exams and the submission of written and practical coursework.
What do I need?
You will need to achieve at least 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above with a Grade 3 in English and Maths.

You will be expected to attend a practical workshop as part of the interview process and an audition.
