Sport OCR Cambridge Technical Level 2
About this course
The course will provide you with an opportunity to develop your sporting ability by providing opportunities to participate in sport during lessons and also as part of our extensive extra-curricular sport programme.
You will develop your coaching skills with the opportunity to plan and deliver sports activities and events within College and at local schools.
You will study a range of units, which will allow you to develop your academic skills and knowledge of the theoretical principles that underpin Sport.

You will also be given the opportunity to gain a First Aid Certificate, specific to the Sport and Coaching environment.
How will I be assessed?
You will be asked to complete a variety of tasks, which will include examinations, written assessments, presentations and practical assessments.
What do I need?
- 3 GCSEs with 1 subject at grade D and English and Maths at grade 2 (grade E)
In certain circumstances we will accept variations to this entry guide and create a personalised programme.
Where can it take me?
- Halesowen College - Level 3 vocational courses, including in Sport
- Careers - junior position within the sports and leisure industry
You may be required to undertake a check by the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) to allow you to work with children and vulnerable adults.
You will be expected to take part in all practical lessons, including swimming and have an interest in watching and taking part in sport.
An awareness of skills, tactics and techniques in a variety of sports would be an advantage.
You must be prepared to undertake activities weekday evenings and weekends.
