About this course
This course will allow you to develop an insight into teaching in the lifelong learning sector.
The qualification is aimed at people who work, or want to work, as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector; people who are not in a teaching role, or who have just started a teaching role; and for those who want a short qualification to enable them to make career choices.
You will be able to develop skills in planning, delivery and reflection through a variety of activities.
What will I learn?
Three compulsory units
- Role and Responsibilities of Teachers and Trainers
- Methods of assessment
- Teaching practice - micro teach
How will I be assessed?
Written assignments for each of the three units, and the presentation of a portfolio of evidence.
What do I need?
There are no formal entry requirements.
You will though need to have good levels of literacy as work is completed to A Level standard.
All work has to be word processed so some computer skills will also be needed.
An interview is required before you are able to enrol on to this course.

Level 3 City and Guilds qualification
Do I need anything for the first class?
Completed homework from the interview and a pen/pencil
