The qualification is also designed to support learners in raising awareness of the subject and to encourage open conversations that could prevent individuals from self-harming or from having suicidal thoughts.
Course content
Unit 1: Introduction to suicide and self-harm awareness
Unit 2: Recognising the signs of suicide and self-harm in individuals
Unit 3: The principles of suicide and self-harm prevention
Unit 4: Support for individuals when dealing with grief after suicide
Entry requirements
Age 19+
Aged 19-23 – level 2 qualification or 5 GCSEs
Aged 23+ Good level of written and spoken English
