College marks T Level Week

NEWS

Halesowen College will be marking T Level Week (this week 2-6 October) by highlighting its courses and partnerships with local companies.

T levels are unique as they combine classroom study with industry placements so young people gain work experience in their chosen sector.

The T-Levels courses are equivalent to three A levels and are a mixture of classroom and on the job training with 45 days at a work placement giving students on the job real life experience.

The transition programme is for students who aren’t quite ready yet to start a T Level course, it helps them build their confidence with a work placement, Maths and English skills and their personal development.

Local businesses are embracing T Levels as a great way to bring in new ideas and the latest skills. Companies supporting the new qualification include Russells Hall Hospital.

Stacie Boswell, Head of Division for Health and Social Care from Halesowen College, said: “Our courses have been designed with employers to provide the skills they need in this area.”

“We are delighted to celebrate T Level week and how this new qualification can help students into skilled employment, University or apprenticeships.”
