Guide dog trainer Chelsea

NEWS

Former Halesowen College student Chelsea Dunford is doing her dream job – training guide dogs.

Chelsea, aged 25, studied the Level 3 and HND in Animal Care at College before going back to University to study animal behaviour and welfare.

When leaving College Chelsea started her career at West Midlands Safari Park as a zookeeper but with a passion for dogs she decided to go back to University to study more about them. She works for Guide Dogs Shrewsbury as a guide dog trainer.

Chelsea (pictured with her training dog, John) said: “I am so passionate about my role as a guide dog trainer. Not only do I have the privilege of working with such wonderful dogs but helping to make a positive impact on a person’s life is so rewarding.

“Halesowen College supported me in finding my enthusiasm for canine behaviour and I am so happy I took the plunge into further study with them.”

Chelsea lives in Wolverhampton.
