We have teamed up with local company HSG to elevate our key strategic objective of ensuring that our learning environments are sustainable and demonstrate our firm commitment to environmental responsibility.

As part of key performance indicators to reduce our carbon footprint by 10% in 2023 and by 20% in 2025, we have installed 36 Urecos and 14 Uretech water managers in washrooms across our main campus, with the remaining sites to follow.

This will enable us to reduce water consumption by nearly 11 million litres over the next three years which will save 11.44 tonnes of CO2. The Ureco system installation will also save more than £8,000 in water bills.

Our Head of Estates and Facilities, Corinne, Youren, said, “One of our core values as a College is to innovate and always look for improvement and our team continue to review how we can improve our campuses and environmental impact year on year.

“As well as reducing our water consumption and carbon footprint, the Ureco system will greatly improve the washroom experience and reduce costly maintenance and repairs.

“We are delighted to be working alongside HSG, a fellow Midlands-based company, to deliver this programme and the feedback from both staff and students has already been positive.”
