Professional make-up tips for students

NEWS

Professional make-up artist Nicky Jones came into Halesowen College to do a live demonstration for students.

Nicky is well known in the industry and has worked at fashion weeks and in top departments stores. Students learnt a range of techniques to use on their clients at College and when they go out to salons on a work placement.

As part of the demonstration Nicky created a `red carpet’ look on Jessica Taylor, one of the Level three beauty therapist learners. She also answered lots of questions.

Alicia Mason, Head of Division for Hair and Beauty at Halesowen College, said: “We were delighted to welcome Nicky into College and for our students to see first-hand the work of a professional make-up artist.

“They will take what they have learnt into our salon in College and also when they go out on work placement – which will give them fantastic skills and experience for the future.”

Jessica, aged 17, is from Kingswinford.
