Student Awards 2023

Students at Halesowen College have been given special awards for their hard work and contribution to the College and community. 

 

The College has announced its Student Awards 2023. 

 

Joshua Baker won the Izzy Smith Award for Determination and Resilience, this award was named after Izzy a former student who sadly passed away earlier this year. Joshua has been determined to do well on his business course despite his personal challenges. 

 

Yolanda Muba, Amal Zaid and Daniel Collins won the GCSE and Functional Skills Student of the Year (English and Maths) for making the most progress in English and Maths. 

 

Joshua Rigsby won the Seriously Supportive Student of the Year Award. Josh is a student ambassador who has shown exceptional leadership and commitment to the College to help others. 

 

Errin Knott, Grace Taylor and Shenai Goodes won the Personal Achievement and Progress Award. These awards were given to students who have made significant progress in their studies. 

 

Jessica Read and Will Attwood won the HE Student of the Year Award. 

 

Afra Saleh won the Caring Community Award for organising events and trips in the community. 

 

Alicia Hazlehurt, Amelie Unwin and Lily Hawthorne won the High Attainment Award for achieving top grades in their subjects. 

 

Kendal Perrin won the Innately Inclusive Award for her never-ending support for other students in her group. 

 

Lauryn Harper won Care Experience Student of the Year for her dedication, effort and personal commitment to her studies. 

 

Zainab Nana and Cameron Ryan won the Apprentice of the Year Award. 

 

Maxine Johnston, Charlotte Litte and Lyn Jennings won Adult Student of the Year Award. 

 

Harry Price, Samuel Barratt and Jake Morris won the Work Placement Excellence Award. 

 

And Kiara Salavati, Yas Khamoushi Rad and Sultana Ahmed won a Diversity Award for sharing their stories. 

 

Joanne Williams, Interim Principal at Halesowen College, said: “Congratulations to all our winners, we are all very proud of their commitment and hard work. 

 

“They have all excelled in their own areas and have shown dedication and resilience.”
