Students volunteer their time

NEWS

Students at Halesowen College have been going above and beyond to work extra hours at their placements as part of Volunteers’ Week.

Students studying the T Level in Education and Early Years have been doing extra volunteer hours at primary schools to mark Volunteers’ Week.

The whole class have already put in hundreds of hours as part of their placement on their course but have done even more to help and to support the children in their care.

T-Level courses are equivalent to three A levels and are a mixture of classroom and on the job training with at least 45 days at a work placement.

The special Volunteers’ Week runs from 1 to 7 June and it is a chance to recognise the contribution volunteers make to their communities and say thank you.

Stacey Wood, from at Halesowen College, said: “The whole class have been brilliant and have volunteered their time to help others. They are so dedicated, thoughtful and have been wonderful to teach.”

Halesowen College runs a range of different T level courses with placements, subjects include Accounting, Management and Administration, Digital, Early Years, Health Science, Supporting Healthcare, Education and Childcare. There are also transition courses to T Levels in Digital and Business.
