Studying for your CMI Level 5 Diploma will help to elevate your CV above those of others in the search for new job roles or for promotions. In addition, you will cover a range of core subjects outlined below, which will equip you with the knowledge and skills to be seen as the ‘go-to’ manager in your area of expertise. Students who complete a Level 5 Diploma will receive the designatory letters MCMI after their name and with three years service can also claim CMgr status, which have been demonstrated to increase your earning potential in the field of management and leadership. Progression from the Level 5 Diploma is usually to the Level 7 Diploma, which is a Masters equivalent qualification.

Course content

Students will engage with the following areas of management and leadership:

  • Management & leadership skills in an organisational setting
  • Developing, managing and leading teams and their members
  • Stakeholder relationships
  • Managing an organisational project
  • Managing finance
  • Reflective practice for managers

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, although GCSE English and maths are recommended due to written assessment, but as a student you should ideally to be working within an organisation or role where you report to a senior manager and demonstrate application of the knowledge gained on the course. Alternatively, you could draw on previous experience within an organisation. Students on a Level 5 course who are already working and are aspiring to a managerial role and seeking qualifications will also meet the requirements.
