Supporting Teaching and Learning in PE and Sport Apprenticeship Level 3
About this course
This 24 month Apprenticeship is ideal for you if you want to work with children and/or adults and help them to be active and enjoy Sport. You will gain the essential knowledge associated with a range of sporting activities, the development and maintenance of a healthy body while acquiring the skills necessary to assist in PE and Sport sessions. As well as an active interest in Sport, you will need to be well presented, confident and have a sound knowledge of English Language and Maths.
During your Apprenticeship, you will attend College on a day release basis to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of PE & Sport and you will be visited in the workplace by a College assessor who will guide and assess your developing skills. You will also complete workbooks for Employment Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.
You will also work to further improve your skills in English and Maths over the course of your Apprenticeship.
How will I be assessed?
You will be visited by an assessor in your workplace to guide you and assess your developing skills. Your assessor will help you compile a portfolio of your work and this will be assessed throughout your Apprenticeship. Your knowledge will be assessed through assignment work set and marked by College staff.
What do I need?
You will need to have or achieve at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English Language, Maths and Science. In addition you will need to secure a job with an employer.
Where can it take me?
- Employment as a Teaching Assistant in Sport, Sports Leader or Sports Development Officer
- Further training in sports coaching
