The Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship is a suitable pathway for students seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed Beauty Therapist. You will study a variety of subjects as well as additional optional units.
All Apprentices study Health & Safety to ensure correct working practices in the salon. You will also learn how to consult clients effectively using excellent communication skills. In addition, skills are developed in manicure, pedicure, make up, waxing, eyelash & eyebrow treatments and facials. Alongside the practical skills, you will learn how to promote services and products to enhance employability skills.
Apprentices are required to attend College 1 day a week, where you will engage in both theory and practical lessons. The remainder of the week is spent in the Apprenticeship work placement.
In both settings the apprentice will be required to work commercially on clients to develop skills.
The course is assessed through practical observation and written exams. Students are also required to produce evidence of their practice and underpinning knowledge.
You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English and Maths.
In addition, you will also need to secure a job with an employer.
