During the first year of the course, the focus is to build a foundation in both practical and theoretical computer science. You will learn hardware and software skills including Computer Systems and Networking, together with Web Technologies and Programming. There will also be modules on Cyber Security Awareness and its impact on business.
The second year will be focused more on Cyber Security and Data breach. There will be modules on other subjects such as Cloud Systems, Project Management, and advanced programming techniques.
The overall aim of this course is to help you become a competent Programmer or IT Technician and give you a firm foundation in Cyber Security.
The course is assessed through a combination of exams and coursework.
The coursework will be made up of practical sessions, demonstrations, presentations, and games expo, allowing you to develop and showcase all your academic and personal skills.
You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths.
You can progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including HNC/D Computing and degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Games Development and many more.
AN APPRENTICESHIP COULD ALSO BE CONSIDERED.
