Digital - Digital Production, Design & Development (T Level)

During your T Level Journey for Digital Production, Design and Development you will complete:

  1. 315-hour industry placement (approximately 45 days)
  2. A Technical Qualification: where you will specialise in a particular occupation.

You will gain knowledge and practical skills that will help you complete the assessments and prepare you for working in the industry. In the Core Component you'll learn more about topics including digital environments, legislation, testing and data. In the Occupational Specialism Component, you'll develop the skills to prepare you for your career in digital production, design, and development.

  • analysing a problem to define requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to user needs
  • designing, implementing, and testing software
  • changing, maintaining, and supporting software
  • creating solutions in a social and collaborative environment
  • discovering, evaluating, and applying reliable sources of knowledge
  • applying ethical principles and managing risks in line with legal and regulatory requirements when developing software

You will learn to program in Python as specified by the exam board plus one other programming language.

How will I be assessed?

It is split into two Components.

  1. The Core Component, which has two exams and an Employer Set Project.
  2. The Occupational Specialist Component, which has a large project completed over 67 hours.

What do I need?

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

Where can it take me?

You could progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including HNC/D Computing or an Apprenticeship in digital.
