Digital Support Services (T Level) - Digital Support Pathway

During your T Level Journey for Digital Support Services, you will complete:

  • 315-hour industry placement (approximately 45 days)
  • A Technical Qualification – where you will specialise in Digital Support

It is split into two Components.

  1. The Core Component, which has two exams and an Employer Set Project.
  2. The Occupational Specialist Component, which has a large project.

You will gain knowledge and practical skills that will help you complete the assessments and prepare you for working in the industry. In the Core Component you’ll learn more about topics including: business context, culture, digital analysis, digital environments, security, testing, tools. In the Occupational Specialism Component, you’ll develop the skills to prepare you for your career in Digital Support Services. You will cover the following on the Digital Support pathway.

Digital support

  • Apply procedures and controls to maintain the digital security of an organisation and its data
  • Install, configure and support software applications and operating systems
  • Discover, evaluate and apply reliable sources of knowledge

How will I be assessed?

The Core Component assessment is 2 exam papers each set for 2½ hours. Employer Set Project – NCFE will create this with the help of our employer experts, the project is made up of 4 tasks, with task 4 split into two parts. The tasks will be completed over a few weeks, but before you start, you’ll have some time to do some research and prepare.

When you do the tasks you’ll work in exam conditions, sometimes you’ll be able to use the internet, but you won’t be able to do any of the work at home or ask your friends for help.

What do I need?

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

Where can it take me?

You could progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including HNC/D Computing or an Apprenticeship in digital.

This course is ideal if you are considering a career working as an IT Support Technician, IT Manager and many more.

Additional information

You will achieve the T level qualification in Digital Support Services. Your Technical Qualification will be the largest part of your T Level it will be a total of 1200 hours which equates to 3 ½ A Levels.
