This occupation is found in a range of private and public settings including; full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, home based provision, hospitals, social care settings, out of school environments and local authority provision to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage.
On completion, some of the knowledge and skills you would gain include Children’s development, holistic development, attachment, safeguarding, reflective practice and specialist aids.
Some of the Behaviours you would build on include Care and Compassion, Honesty, trust and integrity, being team focussed, commitment and professional practice.
On completion of the apprenticeship you would be qualified as an Early Years Practitioner. There are lots of progression routes to choose from on completion.

An apprenticeship is a real job, with hands-on experience, a salary and the chance to train while you work. You would be treated just like all the other employees, with a contract of employment, holiday leave and employee benefits. You would receive support from a dedicated assessor who regularly visits apprentices in the workplace.
