Health & Social Care Level 2

If you are considering a career in the Health and Social Care Sector - a Care Worker, Social Worker, Paramedic – then this could be the course for you!

We have an ever-increasing population with Social Care needs, and this industry is widening and increasing with employment opportunities.

During the course, you will study exciting subjects including Anatomy & Physiology, Health & Social Care Services, Mental Health, Communication, Equality and Diversity and Ensuring Safe Environments, as well as a wide range of essential units to enable you to develop the skills and qualities to become an outstanding Health & Social Care Professional.

As part of your course, you may be required to complete an extended work placement, 1 day a week, with a local employer.

A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DSB) is needed at the start of the course, as you will be required to undertake a placement within a Health & Social Care setting.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of written assignments, witness statements, presentations, role plays and practical assessments in placement.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English and Maths.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to Level 3 vocational courses, including Health & Social Care. (if you current grades meet Level 3 entry requirements).

AN APPRENTICESHIP COULD ALSO BE CONSIDERED. 

A junior position in the Health & Social Care sector such as - Support Worker, Care Assistant, Support Technician, Domestic Service posts in care environments.
