Health & Social Care is designed to introduce you to the changes people undergo through their lives, and the ways in which society is able to meet and support these changing needs.
This Level 3 Extended Certificate is taken over 2 years and is the equivalent of one A Level. It can be studied alongside other A Levels, or similar Level 3 alternative A Level qualifications such as Applied Psychology.
This course is assessed through a combination of examinations and coursework.
You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 in English and a Grade 4 or above in Maths. Grade 4 in Science is desirable.
Level 2 vocational qualification in Science at Distinction or Merit may also be considered.
You can progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including the Health and Social Care Foundation Degree. You could also consider studying a related degree at university.
This course is ideal if you are interested in a career in Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Health, Social Work or as a Paramedic.
This course should be combined with A Levels
Good combinations could include Sociology, Psychology and especially science subjects such as Biology.
An Apprenticeship may also be considered
