A Level and Vocational Combined

Health & Social Care is designed to introduce you to the changes people undergo through their lives, and the ways in which society is able to meet and support these changing needs.

This Level 3 Extended Certificate is taken over 2 years and is the equivalent of one A Level. It can be studied alongside other A Levels, or similar Level 3 alternative A Level qualifications such as Applied Psychology.

How will I be assessed?

This course is assessed through a combination of examinations and coursework.

What do I need?

You will need to have GCSEs with 2 grade 6s and 3 grade 5s including English Language. A Level 2 Science qualification at merit or distinction level may also be considered. Retaking GCSE Maths as as part of your programme is required if you do not have grade 4.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including the Health and Social Care Foundation Degree. You could also consider studying a related degree at university.

This course is ideal if you are interested in a career in Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Health, Social Work or as a Paramedic.
