Music Production & Sound Engineering Level 3

The course is structured around providing industry experience through live briefs, backed up with a solid core of theoretical knowledge based in Music, Physics and Maths Principles.

The course of study includes modules such as Studio Production, Live Sound, Events Management, Remixing & Reworking, Acoustics and many more.

In addition, you will take part in multiple external events, including our annual Mayfly Festival, which is organised and controlled entirely by College Music students. This is an industry experience like no other.

Throughout the year, events such as Industry Week will allow you to add further value to your training and education in the Music sector, creating valuable networks and links.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through coursework.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including Maths.

Retaking GCSE English as part of your programme is required if you do not have Grade 4.

Prior experience of Music or Music Theory is desirable but not essential to start studying this subject.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a range of higher level and professional qualifications. Most of our students progress to higher education courses in Science, Engineering and Arts.

This course is ideal if you are interested in the Creative Arts sector, working in live Sound, post and location production for TV & Film, Sound design, gaming Sound, Studio or electrical engineering and product development.

It is also ideal for those interested in a career as a music producer, arranger, composer for film/TV/commercial music, programmer, or an acoustician.
