Acting Level 3

There are almost endless possibilities to what you could contribute to the world of Performing Arts, just as long as you have the confidence to stand in front of an audience and connect with their thoughts and feelings. This course is for those passionate about performance.

Whether you aspire to work in the entertainment industry, Acting for Theatre, Television and Film, or whether you have a talent for Storytelling, Directing, Stand- Up Comedy or Creative Original Writing, this course is for you.

You will cover an extensive range of performance styles and techniques, offering aspiring actors the chance to develop their skills and understanding in preparation for working in the performing arts and entertainment industry.

You will also have opportunities to take part in full scale productions and other performance events that are offered throughout the year, which will require rehearsals and performances outside normal College hours.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of performance, theory and coursework. Large and small scale performances will be assessed through both rehearsal observation and final performance effectiveness. Coursework is often connected directly to the analysis and research done as part of the Performance and Production Process.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English. You will need to attend an audition.

Retaking GCSE Maths as part of your programme is required if you do not have Grade 4.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a range of higher level and professional qualifications. 

This course is ideal if you are interested in a career as a Theatre Performer, Director or Entertainer. Other careers in Teaching and Public Relations could also be considered.
