The new admissions cycle for September 2022 entry will open in October 2021, and we recommend you check back for updates to course information.

Have you already had a taste of performing through school shows, youth theatre performances or GCSE Dance classes?

Perhaps you simply have a passion for performing but have not yet had the chance or the confidence to put your skills onto a larger stage. Then this could be the course for you.

Throughout this course, you will learn some of the fundamental skills in Dance, from technique to performance skills, as well as gaining experience within the theatre.

This exciting and confidence boosting course is a perfect start to the development of your career aspirations as a Dancer.

Various opportunities to take part in performance productions and events are offered throughout the year, which will require rehearsals and performances outside normal College hours.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of performance, theory and coursework.

Large and small scale performances will be assessed through both rehearsal observation and final performance effectiveness. Coursework is often connected directly to the analysis and research done as part of the performance and production process.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English, and Maths. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, and will improve your future employment prospects.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 3 vocational course in Dance or Musical Theatre.

You could consider a junior position within the Performing Arts industry or work as an entertainer in holiday resorts.
