Dance Level 3

If you are committed and enthusiastic about having a career in Dance this is the course for you. The course has been developed to prepare you for higher education and a variety of careers in the Dance industry.

Through project-based, internally assessed assignments and Dance showcases, the course offers an exciting opportunity to develop your practical Dance skills, creativity and theoretical knowledge through the study of a variety of Dance techniques, performance skills and choreography.

In addition, there will be opportunity to enhance your employability skills to prepare you for a career in the industry, by participating in work experience, external performances, collaborating with other departments for College events, workshops with professionals and much more. Participation in productions will require rehearsals and performances outside normal College hours.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of practical and written coursework throughout the duration. Practical assessments will include classwork and publicly assessed performances. Written coursework is often connected directly to the analysis and research done as part of the Rehearsal and Performance Process for our Dance showcases.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English.

Retaking GCSE Maths as part of your programme is required if you do not have Grade 4.

It is essential that you have some Dance experience, and as part of the interview process you will be invited to attend an audition.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a range of higher level and professional qualifications. 

This course is ideal if you are interested in a career in Dance either as a Performer, Choreographer, Teacher or Administrator.
