During the first year of this course, the main focus will be on computer engineering. You will learn how to work with and troubleshoot IT faults, as well as developing an in-depth knowledge of hardware, software and computer networks. The course also includes a module on Social Media and Digital Marketing, along with learning and designing applications for the Internet and mobile devices.
Software Engineering and Website Development are the main focus throughout the second year of this course and alongside this there will be units in Project Management, Cloud Based Systems and Cyber Security.
Amongst other things, this course will help you to become a competent Programmer, Web Developer, IT Technician and Cloud Specialist, ensuring that you are work ready for the rapidly changing digital market.
The course is assessed through a combination of exams and coursework.
The coursework will be made up of practical sessions, demonstrations, presentations and games expo, allowing you to develop and showcase all your academic and personal skills.
You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths.
You can progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including HNC/D Computing and degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Games Development and many more.
