Sport Level 2

This qualification will give you an introduction to skills, knowledge and techniques required for working in the Sports industry.

A range of units will be studied, involving a balance of learning in the classroom and practical activities, using facilities such as the Fitness Suite and 3G Pitch.

On completion of the course, you will have greater understanding of key areas such as anatomy and physiology, nutrition and skills, techniques and tactics, in a variety of Sports.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of practical observations, written work, presentations and workbooks.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English, Maths and Science. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, and will improve your future employment prospects.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 3 vocational course, including Sport. Gym Instructing, Personal Training or an Apprenticeship could also be an option. 

You could consider a junior role in the Sport & Leisure industries, including Leisure Assistant, Assistant Sports Coach, Assistant Fitness Instructor or After School Club Coach.
