About this course
This technical qualification is designed for learners who either work in or wish to pursue a career in Hairdressing.
This qualification reflects this exciting and dynamic industry and will help prepare you to meet the standards required by industry, future employers and clients.
Throughout the course you will learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide Hairdressing services for clients with various hair types.
To further enhance your employability skills there will be opportunities for you to complete a one week work placement.
This compulsory aspect of the course gives you the chance to apply the knowledge gained in class to the real world of work.

- Shampoo, Condition and Treat the Hair and Scalp
- Style Hair with Electrical Equipment
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by an externally marked test and external moderated synoptic assignment.
What do I need?
You will need to achieve at least 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above with a Grade 3 in English and Maths.
Where can it take me?
- College - Level 3 Vocational courses such as Ladies’ Hairdressing or Level 2 Barbering
Throughout the course enrichment activities and trips will be offered.
