Apprenticeship - Early Years Education - Level 3

This framework develops knowledge and skills relating to the Early Years Educator i.e. those working with children from birth to 5 years and gaining knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years, within a setting which provides care and education for children across this age range.

This Apprenticeship pathway is suitable for those looking to join the Early Years Workforce, as well as those already working in the sector.

By studying topics such as Support Healthy Lifestyles for Children Through the Provision of Food & Nutrition and Understand the Value of Play in Early Years, this Apprenticeship pathway supports the development of a highly qualified, well skilled workforce within the Early Years sector and ensures that children and young people accessing services in England gain the best possible care and support.

How will I be assessed?

All units must be internally assessed using a range of methods, including direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence and written assignments or tasks.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, Including English and Maths. You will also need to hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification.

In addition, you will also have to secure a job with an employer.

  • College Progression – you could progress to an exciting range of higher level courses, including the Early Years Foundation Degree.

You need to be in employment – College staff may be able to help you, but you will probably need to apply for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship online vacancy website.

You must have a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
