Elective Home Education and Elevate
The EHE and Elevate division is dedicated to providing flexible, inclusive, and supportive education pathways for young people at different stages of their learning journey. We work with learners aged 14–19 who may be electively home educated, have experienced disruption in their schooling, or require a more supported transition into further education.
Across our programmes, our mission is the same: to remove barriers, build confidence, and create meaningful routes into future learning, training, and employment.
We do this by offering tailored academic provision, personalised support, and a nurturing environment that recognises each young person’s needs, strengths, and aspirations. Whether students are studying part‑time alongside home education or joining a full‑time pathway to get back on track, we provide the guidance, structure, and encouragement they need to progress.
Elective Home Education (EHE)
EHE is a part-time programme for young people aged 14–16 (school years 10 and 11) who are electively home educated. We provide up to 15 hours per week of study at Level 2/GCSE.
Our Role
The EHE programme offers part-time academic tuition for young people who are home educated. We work closely with families to support progress towards qualifications and positive next steps.
As a tuition provider, Halesowen College delivers subject teaching and learning support during timetabled sessions. Parents and carers retain responsibility for the broader educational provision and pastoral care of their child, including learning that takes place outside taught hours.
What’s on Offer?
We offer a range of subjects for students starting in September 2026 (qualifications may be subject to change):
- GCSE Maths
- GCSE English Language
- GCSE English Literature
- GCSE Biology
- GCSE Media Studies
- Level 2 Extended Certificate in IT (equivalent to 2 GCSEs)

Elevate
Elevate provides flexible pathways for young people aged 16–19 who may have had disrupted or limited prior education, or who have not met the entry requirements for their preferred study route and need additional support to transition into further education.
Back on Track – Full-Time
This pathway is designed for school leavers who did not achieve the GCSEs required for their intended next step. Subjects may include GCSE Maths, English Language, Biology, Sociology, and Media Studies.
Purpose:
Back on Track gives students a second opportunity to achieve key GCSEs needed for their future academic or career aspirations. With a focus on core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science, the programme helps students build a strong foundation for future study or training. It aims to boost confidence and provide a structured, supported entry into further education or vocational pathways.
Elevate your Personal Growth and Wellbeing
Full-time programme with Level 1 and Level 2 Extended Certificate in Personal Growth and Wellbeing options available.
Designed for students who have experienced challenges in their educational journey and require a supported transition into further education. The programme focuses on personal development and wellbeing, alongside opportunities to study Maths, English, and the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) to prepare for progression into vocational areas of interest.
Purpose:
This pathway supports holistic development by nurturing both academic and personal growth. It is especially valuable for students who may have faced emotional, personal, or educational barriers. By building confidence, resilience, and essential learning skills, the programme aims to support successful engagement in future vocational courses and reduce the risk of course withdrawal.
Additional Information:
Elevate your Personal Growth and Wellbeing – Online
This online Elevate pathway is designed for young people whose mental health currently prevents them from accessing on-site education.
The programme helps students develop an understanding of their mental health and build resilience, strategies, and confidence. The aim is to support progression into further education, training, or employment when they feel ready.
Purpose:
Elevate Online offers a flexible, accessible option for learners who struggle to engage with traditional learning environments. By providing supportive, self-paced online study, it helps students build emotional resilience, develop coping strategies, and prepare for future educational success with greater confidence and stability.
Please note, individual circumstances will be discussed at interview.
