Ambassadors

There are plenty of opportunities to take part in College life. You can offer your opinions, represent your fellow students and support teaching, public relations and college governance. You’ll have the chance to contribute to focus groups and feedback activities, and to sit on interview panels for staff.

Every year the College appoints a number of students to positions of responsibility. Each role has a slightly different focus, but all of the roles help students to develop self-confidence, build good teamwork skills, feel a sense of satisfaction and reward and find out more about working in education.

College Ambassadors are “the face and voice of the College” who represent the College at events like Open Days and Welcome Days. They give talks at school events, help with new students during enrolment and assist with College promotion by giving their views on student life.

Careers Ambassadors work with younger students, sharing their experiences about careers education and providing advice on the help available. They give guidance on researching higher education and the UCAS application process.

Equality Ambassadors are keen to share ideas and opinions on enhancing equality and diversity, working with us to help maintain and improve opportunities at the College.

Student Governors are nominated to a place on the College Corporation where they take part in the continuous improvement of the College. They attend meetings and add a student viewpoint to decisions on the opportunities for education and training in Halesowen and the wider community.
