Elective Home Education and Elevate

The EHE and Elevate division is dedicated to providing flexible, inclusive, and supportive education pathways for young people at different stages of their learning journey. We work with learners aged 14–19 who may be electively home educated, have experienced disruption in their schooling, or require a more supported transition into further education.

Across our programmes, our mission is the same: to remove barriers, build confidence, and create meaningful routes into future learning, training, and employment.

We do this by offering tailored academic provision, personalised support, and a nurturing environment that recognises each young person’s needs, strengths, and aspirations. Whether students are studying part‑time alongside home education or joining a full‑time pathway to get back on track, we provide the guidance, structure, and encouragement they need to progress.

Elective Home Education (EHE)

Study a personalised combination of no more than five subjects. Specialist teaching, clear routines and supportive small-group learning help students build confidence, independence and qualifications for their future.

We offer a range of subjects for students starting in September 2026 (qualifications may be subject to change):

GCSE Maths
GCSE English Language
GCSE English Literature
GCSE Biology
GCSE Media Studies
Level 2 Digital
Higher Project Qualification (equivalent to 1 GCSE)
GCSE Sociology

Ready to apply?

Applicants should be aged 14–16, electively home educated and ready to learn positively within a structured, group-based college environment.

Entry and Readiness

Home educated for at least one term before admission
Ready to meet expectations for attendance, behaviour and engagement
Attend an information and guidance interview
Bring a written personal statement to interview
Complete planned summer-term activities and a probationary period

Places are limited. Subject choices are not guaranteed, and qualifications may be subject to change. Individual circumstances are discussed sensitively at interview.

Planning Ahead

We welcome early enquiries, but applications open in October of the academic year before entry. To ensure a fair process for all families, we cannot accept applications or reserve places before the application window opens.

Elevate

Elevate provides flexible pathways for young people aged 16–19 who may have had disrupted or limited prior education, or who have not met the entry requirements for their preferred study route and need additional support to transition into further education.

Elevate Flex

Full-time online course

PGW at Level 1 or Level 2, matched to individual ability. Entry points in September, November and January.

PGW Level 1 Certificate with Mathematics and English.

PGW Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate with Mathematics, English and HPQ, alongside supported transition into a vocational curriculum pathway.

PGW Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate with Mathematics, English, additional contextualised Mathematics and English support, plus an employability focus.

Back on Track: five GCSEs

An academic re-engagement programme offering five GCSEs.
