SWAPs or Sector-based work academy programmes, are short courses run in partnership with local employers. They quip adult learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in today’s competitive market. Students gain practical experience and develop industry specific skills that are highly sought after by employers.

Our experienced trainers work with employers to develop tailored training plans that cover all aspects of the jobs, from essential skills to specialised industry-specific knowledge. We currently work with employers from the following sectors:

Construction

Customer Service

Education

Health and Social Care

Logistics and Warehousing

Each SWAP lasts up to six weeks and has three main components:

Pre-employment training matched to the employer’s business needs
Work experience placement to learn new skills on the job and gain valuable qualifications for the future
At the end of the programme, learners are guaranteed a job interview with an employer or help with the application process
