Halesowen Cornbow Set To Host Annual Jobs and Skills Fair

On Friday 27th February, the Halesowen Cornbow will see the return of the Skills and Jobs fair between 10am and 12.30pm.

Halesowen College have joined forces with local MP Alex Ballinger, Halesowen BID and the DWP to welcome businesses from across the area, including Sandwell NHS, Trinity Personnel, West Brom Building Society, Doocey Group, Halas Homes and Keir Group. There will also be a range of education and training providers present on the day.

The fair has been designed to give local job seekers a platform for skills development and career progression opportunities through discussions with local employers.

MP for Halesowen Alex Ballinger said “I am pleased to be taking part in the Halesowen Skills and Jobs Fair once again this year. Events like this play an important role in showcasing the wide range of opportunities available to both young people and adults across Halesowen.

I hope the fair will once again bring together jobseekers and local employers, helping to strengthen our local economy and reflect the Black Country values rooted in our proud manufacturing heritage. I would like to thank the Halesowen BID, Halesowen College, the DWP and the Cornbow for organising such a valuable and well-run event.”

On Friday 27th February, the Halesowen Cornbow will see the return of the Skills and Jobs fair between 10am and 12.30pm.

The fair has been designed to give local job seekers a platform for skills development and career progression opportunities through discussions with local employers.

Jacquie Carman, Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Halesowen College said “The Skills Fair has been successfully delivered for several years, growing year on year. It provides a valuable opportunity for local people to connect with organisations and businesses, helping them build confidence and develop the skills needed to move into employment.”

Vicky Shakespeare commented “Following the success of our previous events, we are pleased to join up again with Alex Ballinger, the DWP and Halesowen College to welcome the Skills and Jobs Fair back to the Cornbow Shopping Centre. We understand the need to support jobseekers while helping local businesses connect with the right candidates. With a strong mix of employers and learning providers attending, we hope the event will offer real value to all.”

Julia Robbins, Employer Advisor at the DWP said “This event is a great opportunity for local jobseekers to speak directly with employers. Training providers will be on hand to discuss the skills and learning opportunities available, while support organisations will provide information on overcoming barriers.”
