As this Access to HE Diploma is studied via online distance learning, it is perfect for learners who have been out of education for an extended period and have other time constraints. What’s more, our students can begin working on their Access to HE Diploma from the moment of enrolment, whether that is in September or at any other point during the year.

The Access to HE Diploma (Medical and Health) equips students with the knowledge and skills essential for a career in radiography and medical imaging. This course is designed to prepare students for Higher Education in the radiography field, providing key insights into human biology, medical physics, and the ethical use of imaging technologies. Students will acquire comprehensive knowledge, subject-specific skills, and transferable skills necessary for success in radiography and related healthcare professions.

Course content

All Diplomas are 60 credits, irrespective of the place, subject or mode of study. Of the 60 credits 45 must be from graded units concerned with academic subject content, with the remaining 15 credits to be achieved from ungraded units. In addition, all students must study a minimum of ten 3 credit units and at least one 9 or 6 credit unit, which may or may not be graded:

Once you have enrolled on your Access to, HE Diploma, the rest of the process is self-explanatory. Every student will be provided with a comprehensive set of interactive learning materials. Everything supplied is simple to access and easy to understand. As well as this, all learners have access to our expert assessors, who are there to provide you with guidance and support on submitted work throughout your studies.

The Diploma will be made up of a number of units and assignments. Once you have completed each assignment, you will submit it for marking. There are deadlines that must be met, but you can submit earlier should you wish to work more quickly. Your tutors will then grade your work and provide you with feedback. You should begin your next assignment by drawing on the feedback from the previous units.

As this is a distance learning programme, students will need to take full responsibility of their own study timetables. This means they will need to develop the discipline to work independently and learn how plan their time effectively. You will be provided with an Individual Learning Plan that outlines the submission deadlines for your assignments to keep you on track throughout your studies. An Access to HE Diploma can be completed within 18 months. However, most students complete their course within 6-12 months.

You require a GCSE grade C/ 4 in English Language or an equivalent qualification, such as L2 Functional Skills English. It is desirable to have GCSE grade C/ 4 in Maths or an equivalent qualification, such as L2 Functional Skills Maths as well. If not, you can study this alongside your Access Diploma, as you will need it for your degree.

*Please note some universities also require L2 or GCSE in a Science

You will need access to notebooks and stationery.
