If you have completed a Level 2 Qualification in Dog Grooming and would now like to become a fully qualified dog groomer – then this course will develop these skills. You must have evidence of your Level 2 qualification to enrol on this course. The Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification covers the skills the learner will need to progress to work as a Professional Dog Groomer.
Mandatory content covers: health and safety, legislation and codes of practice for the dog grooming industry, preparing, styling and finishing a dog, health checking and handling a dog in a dog grooming environment, customer service and record keeping in a dog grooming environment.
A multiple choice online exam which covers the knowledge and understanding within the qualification and a practical assignment which covers health checks, first aid and grooming of dogs with different coat types and for different requirements. On achievement of this qualification the learner will be able to demonstrate to an employer/the public that you have the necessary technical skills and knowledge that businesses are looking for when recruiting/seeking the services of a Professional Dog Groomer. This could lead to employment in an existing salon or creating your own dog grooming business.
Must have completed the Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants. Ideally a GCSE grade profiles of 4’s and above in Maths, English and Science is desirable though resits can be built into the programme if needed.
Candidates will need to buy their own dog grooming uniform (all available through the Halazon website) as well as a professional scissor set. All instructions for this will be discussed in induction week.
