Course content

This Media course will help you to expand your knowledge and understanding on a range of areas in the Film and Media industry.

This is a very popular course with students and has an excellent achievement rate. You will improve your practical skills and learn how to use a range of industry standard software including Final Cut Pro, InDesign and Photoshop as well as film making equipment.

If you are creative, motivated, organised and have a passion for Media, then this is the course for you!

During the course, you will become multi-skilled in a range of Media techniques which will prepare you for progression towards a career in the industry.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English, and Maths. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, and will improve your future employment prospects.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through coursework.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to Level 3 vocational courses including Creative Digital Media Production, as well as Photography or Art & Design.

You could consider a junior position working as a Film & TV Production Assistant, Copywriter, Photography Assistant or Advertising Assistant.
