You will be assessed by completing a combination of practical assessments, end of unit exams and assignments.

You will need to purchase a kit and uniform to complete the course.

You could further develop your portfolio with the full time Level 2 Hairdressing apprenticeship.

You might also consider employment in a barbering salon, become a freelance barber or working abroad, for example, on a cruise liner.

You will require a work placement in the barbering industry for one – two days a week to gain work experience and develop your practical and employability skills. It is also compulsory that you participate in attending the latest trade exhibitions where you can get up to the minute tips, demonstrations and equipment. Enrichment visits e.g., Salvation Army, guest speakers and top professionals from the industry will help to motivate and inspire you. Educational visits will enable you to network and find out about the latest information and current trends in the industry.

All timetables will incorporate evening classes running until approximately 8pm to ensure learners are work-ready and prepared for industry expectations.
