Students studying the Level 2 Occupational Certificate for the Early Years Practitioner will enable learners to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to support the learning and development of young children.

Course content

Over two years, you will gain a strong understanding of early years practice and complete a 250-hour work placement, preparing you for employment as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner or further progression opportunities.

What do I need?

4 x 3’s with a grade 4 in either Maths or English

How will I be assessed?

This is a two-year qualification assessed through coursework and placement observation to determine work-based competency.

Where can it take me?

After completion, students can progress into work as a Level 2 Early Years Professional in a nursery setting. Students could also progress onto a Level 3 qualification such as V-levels, T-levels or Apprenticeships.
