If you’re passionate about the intersection of science and law, and have completed the Higher National Certificate in Applied Science (Forensic Science) then the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science) is the perfect course for you. This program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to excel in the exciting field of forensic science.

With a focus on hands-on learning and practical elements to the course, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the scientific principles and techniques that underpin forensic investigation. You’ll learn how to collect and analyse evidence, interpret results and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Through a variety of practical exercises and real-world case studies, you’ll develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in this dynamic and fast-paced field.

Students attend College two days a week (full time) or 1 day a week (part time).

Students will participate in a range of activities, including lectures, workshops, group work, presentations and practical activities and Science based practical work.

Students are encouraged to use a range of resources, including books and journals from the Learning Resource Centre on Campus, as well as online materials.

This is a fast pace course and you will be expected to have good attendance and complete independent study outside of lessons.

The course is 100% coursework assessed.

This consists of reports, projects, practical work and presentations

You must have passed the Higher National Diploma in Applied Science (Forensics)
